Not getting above 95 degrees
« on: December 13, 2008, 05:14:18 pm »
I have a 1987 Sundance Series 604 that won't get hotter than 95.5 degrees.  I have replaced the element, the pressure switch, the high temp limit switch, the temp sensor (cracked) in the filter well, the control panel, and the doors.  Polarity and ground are correct, filter is clean and it is set for 240 volt.  Any ideas?  Spa companies in area suffer from worker maliase (might as well ask the guy in the walmart pet isle with the hypno contact lenses) and are no help whatsoever.  Really would like it 101 to 104 by Christmas.

I also checked to make sure the pressure switch tube was not clogged.

Is the heat indicator light on?

Is it in standard mode?

When you turn up the dial, does the relay click like it is trying to turn on?

Hey, I figured it out.  Ready for this.  While replacing broken parts, I replaced the temperature sensor.  This temperature sensor is not calibrated to the board.  The board has a calibration screw not visible to the naked eye due to its location underneath all the wiring and being painted the same color as the calibration device.  Thank God for my daughter's new LED flashlight that made the screw show up a different color.

This was figured out when trying to find a cheap replacement circut board online. Seems the replacement circut boards come with a sensor (thermistor probe) calibrated to the board.  Since you can't calibrate a thermistor, you must calibrate the board to it.  If you have to do that, there must be a calibration screw.

Now, I figure by Spring I should either be insane or a Level 5 Hot Tub Master.
