With all the costly remodeling investments we've made in the last couple of years (mostly due to the wife graduating from college)...the Hot Tub was... by far... the best investment for us. :)  We are reminded of it...every....single....night! ::)

Hi,

My husband and I are in the process of purchasing a spa. We were looking for some ideas/photos of how others have installed their spa.

This is a gorgeous set-up. I love the covered deck & how the deck surrounds the spa and how convenient it looks to get in and out. I'm sure it'll be beautiful when it's completed. Very classy!

What is the spa resting on? Can you still access the electronics?

cmoore....well here's mine

and here's my brother's in Colorado:

and here are some other interesting installs

just remember you must always be able to have access to the equipment inside
so if you sink the tub into a deck or stone ya gotta have an escape hatch/or secret door

When I look at that one pic with the tub totally flush with the deck and the scenic valley in the background I just think of what happens if you forget to strap down the cover.  If the wind catches it, it might not come down for miles.

Zep,

Those are some nice photos. I especially like your brothers back yard with that stream in the background. That's a beautiful setup.

cmoore,

We created a 17" high solid concrete foundation for the hot tub (so that critters would not try to nest under it). The deck was designed so that we could access the Electronics/Motor area by installing a removable deck panel. Actually the decking around the spa was built such that we could dismantle it (if ever needed) by taking out the lag bolts which keep the sections together.

Every spa owner has their own unique set-up which offers them much gratification. Remember that if you totally reccess a spa into the deck...that does make it a little harder to get in and out of the spa.

Search the internet for images...you'll encounter some great ideas.

True....thats why my brother customized the small pool ladder with his recessed spa.

The ladder just plugs into a couple of slots for a very easy removal and
it works great!
