Filter Cleaning Solution
« on: October 26, 2008, 07:14:21 pm »
Does anyone use the bottled filter cleaning solutions?  I need to clean my filter and I have a bottle, but I wonder if a large pail of water with a cap ful of bleach would work.  Another thought is vinegar.  I use vinegar (acetic acid) to clean pumps from a saltwater aquarium.

You can search the forum to find more info on this.
I use vinegar.  Works like a charm at getting all the residue off of my filters.

I recommend filter cleaner. Works well, extends the life of your filter carts.

A litter box or similar plastic tray works for soaking filters on their sides.
