looks like I am goign to need a cover
« on: September 27, 2008, 03:54:23 pm »
I thought I could make it through the spring but my cover looks shot.So I know this has been discussed and debated to death on these boards but I thought I would just open the questions again.

What is the best cover to get?
What is the most efficient cover to get?
Where do you get the most bang for your buck?
Are there anything specific I should look for when I get a cover?
Where should I order from?

Anyone know of any info on this cover?

Price is good but as I said in my last post don't know what to look for?

This one looks good too.
http://www.spadepot.com/shop/Spa-Covers-C45.aspx?gclid=CMe_9qzh_JUCFQkcHgod722EFA

It has a bunch of options..  $99 more for super insulated R-21 plus the other value enhancements.

I want the most energy efficient cover of course if it cost me $200 for a better cover but the savings s nominal then not worth it.

Take a look at your current cover and why it is shot. It will show you weak points. You can look at a cover and see, this is/is not a strong looking as mine in that area.  How big is your tub?  This time I went for a thinner cover, perhaps sacrificing efficiency for ease of use.

Benny, how old is your cover? Is just looking a little ragged or is it getting heavy and waterlogged? You can call your dealer for replacement costs if you want to stick with the factory cover--just kidding. Have you looked at Doc's covers? I hear they are pretty nice......
2005 Hot Spring Envoy still going strong. Million-Mile Club....

I want to get in the spa business so I can surf the internet and use Photoshop all day long.

If you can't sell it on eBay, it may not even qualify as landfill.

I'll take some pictures of mine. I just finished putting a new lifter on today.  My wife liked the looks of a Cover Butler.  I did use the RH cover link. Measuring the cover was easy and that turned out alright. I went with double wrapping and a reflective underside and double stitching on the seam..

Doesn't that double the carbs?  We don't want you putting that weight back on.

Well I just ordered a new cover today from Docs, I will post a report of how it works when I get it. The only bad thing now is waiting the 5-6 weeks just to get a cover, is this normally how long it takes? :'(

Depends. At the moment, you're probably looking at more like 3 to 4 weeks. This is the "end" of an odd annual slow "season". Mid August to mid September. Happens every year.,Aall I can figure is it has something to do with school starting back up. Currently, we have almost no backlog.
