What is the perfect temp?

What is the perfect temp to keep your hot tub on (summer, fall, winter and spring)when you only use it twice a week? I live in New Jersey

You will find YOUR perfect temperature. For me, it's 101 (100 in the summer)...my husband will adjust the tub to 102. Believe it or not, I can detect the one degree temperature increase without even looking at the control panel ! ...and it doesn't make me happy when he does that

We like 100 for the summer, we've only had it for two weeks but I imagine, come winter I'm gonna want 104, I'm sure Adam will push for 102 though.

I somewhat agree, but when its 0F 104 is perfect.   I could outdo you and detect a .5 degree change.  When I was a CompuSlave they had a hot tub and my it varied all over the place.  My friend and I were never more than one half degree off.  As for living in NJ, I can't help him with that.

That is a reasonable assertion.  Part of it is how cold it is and how long you plan on staying in.    If its a nice snowy night I might like to spend 30 minutes at 102, or if my muscles are aching from snow shoveling, 104 is great for about 15 minutes.

my tub is 98 until fall, during fall 101, winter 104 and some nights jack it to 107 so hot, and in the spring we bring it down to 101 or 102.

What I've noticed is if we are in it for social time with friends and you are in there for longer than 20 minutes then 99 degrees is nice. 100 degrees I find everyone breaks out into a sweat. It's weird how that 1 degree changes everything.

What I would like to know is what is the best therapeutic temperature for aching muscles or bones? Is it 104 degrees? The hottest we've had our tub at is 101 so far.

I use ours everyday. If we went away for a while I might drop it but I've read other posts that say the cost savings wouldn't be that great or non-existent if it's just for a few days because the heater would have to work that much longer to bring the temperature back up.

Yes, with a well insulated spa, its actually cheeper to keep it at your set temperature rather than bumping it up an hour or so before getting in. Of course this is based on usage. I don't know the apex where it goes one way or the other.

Last night the tub was at 100, I bumped it up to 102 and chased everyone out of the tub . I like it HOT.
