Prep/purge new filters?
« on: July 16, 2008, 01:00:38 pm »
The Jet Clean is working away! I'll be refilling my tub later today (sorry, Hillbilly -- your advice was good but I'm just way too eager to let it go for 24 hours more. I know the guy I bought it from, so it's not like it's stranger-goo.)

Question: I have two new filters (spa uses two). Do I have to do anything to them before I put them into the spa? I remember someone talking about "purging" a filter.

Just put them in after you drain. You may want to fill through the filters to help prevent a possible air lock. I think that what you saw when you saw someone talking about purging them.

My skimmer box area where the filters go has an air release valve. How does that fit into the equation?
