Boys and sterility
« on: June 30, 2008, 07:18:51 pm »
Someone told me that you have to be very careful with boys and hot tubs and it can cause them to become sterile. I am assuming this is if they stay in for a long time and the water is hot. Please confirm this. What precautions should we take.

As for me who cares I have 3 boys that enough but I would like grand children some day.

Without getting too technical and being banned from here...

There were studies done that indicated that men whose parts were warmer tended to have less sperm production. Tight underware vs boxers are supposed to do the same thing.

If you really want to know the whole story, try googling it.

I limit my teenage boys to 15 minutes. I keep my tub at 101.  If you have your tub cooler, it is probably fine. You can always check with your pediatrician..that would be the most accurate source of information!

If they are dating my daughters, let your  boys stay in the tub as long as they want....in fact hook their playstation up so they can use it in the tub too

We have enough folks on the planet let them soak long and hot. I did my part by getting a vasectomy at age 20. I am now 40 with no regrets and plenty of spending money.

The ads rotate.  When I went to check it out, the ad was for another company.

Other sources report that there is a small reduction in both count and motility, but I haven't seen figures (1%? 5%? 15%?) and the effect is temporary.

I managed to overcome this 'obstacle' four times. I think the reduction is slight. Now, if you lived in the tub 12 hours per day, 7 days a week, I think there would be a bigger issue. You'd be too wrinkled to ....
