Congratulations. Nice tub and nice place. Post some pictures when it is up and running.

I could not tell from your pictures whether you had extra posts and beams under your deck. That is a big tub and will weigh about 5000#.

A few more...

Calypso, you are absolutely correct - I designed/built the deck myself to withstand 120 lbs/sq ft.  The beams running under the tub are 2 X 10's supported by 6 X 6's.  2 X 8 Joists spaced 12" OC w/ Trex composite decking laid out at 45 degrees.  "Overkill" seems to be the standard response from our guests...  :o

Since I completed the electric to the disconnect prior to delivery, I was able to finish running wire from GFCI disconnect to tub by the time the tub was full.  She took just over 4 hours to warm to 99 degrees from 64 degree tab.  Been enjoying ever since!   8-)

Regards,
Kevin

Excellent construction. Nice to see the posts and beams near the house too. It is never overkill. Who wants to see there tub come crashing down for the  sake of an extra $500. The snow loads on roofs and decks can bring the whole works down. People forget that the roof snow load transfers down through the walls. You have in essence removed the spa from your wall loads.

Again very nice setup and a job well done. Enjoy!!  :)

That man knows his umbrella stands...

Indeed - we picked up a "slightly used" SpaUmbrella from a local Coast Spas Dealer who used it during the NYS Fair last year.  The base was in need of a minor weld and the batteries/charger for the LEDs were missing.  We offered $100 and brought her home that day.  $15 for a quick aluminum weld, $45 for a new battery/charger kit from Leisure, and $3 for a can of Black Spray paint - I suspect we saved just over $300.  As the deck faces South, we take a quite a beating from the Sun (when it's out!)   ::)
