Suggestions for Emptying a Hot Tub
« on: May 15, 2008, 09:43:05 pm »
A friend (no, really) asked me this question. She has a D-1 if that makes any difference.

I would like to empty our tub for the summer since we do not use it all season, but the last time I did, I had such a hard time starting it back up again and getting it running.  There was so much air in the lines, it took me a long time to get it out...do you know of any special trick for that problem?

Any suggestions?

Phil

Make sure all the jets are in the open posistion and fill it through the filter when you fill it back up. This should help some. If the pumps get airbound, you can loosen the pump union a bit while it is running to let the air out (it will leak some water) then tighten it back up good.
