I love all four seasons...but this year winter lasted a bit long, well more than just a bit more like way.

60s and 70s sounds great.  Have a great day at the track.

"Saved" yeah I hate both extremes
Fall is my favorite time of year
probably the weather and because of football
the summers are pretty rough here in Dallas
basically July, August, Sept are hotter than hell
not much tubbing in those months
of course one good thing about the hot temps
is the women wear less clothes!

We will be at 91 degrees tomorrow here in Las Vegas. In July and August we get near 120 degrees. The good thing about Vegas is that the women wear less clothes all year long....

OK Jim, I'm going to take a chance here. Since Sundance isn't defended on this forum much, let me ask something. What are the major differences between the Sundance Optima and the Jacuzzi J-470? They appear to be very much the same. Unless I have a BullFrog moment or something I think I'm going to buy either the Optima or 470.

I think every other dealer around my territory has carried Jacuzzi at some point.  They just carry something different now.

Artesian, ALPS, Beachcomber, Catalina, Coleman, Dynasty, CalSpa, Nordic, Marquis, Dimension 1, Sundance, Sunbelt, Seven Seas, Seahorse, Aqua Fina, Emerald, Vita, Master, Leisure Bay, and a half dozen others I can't remember have all paraded through here once or more times in the 9 years I've been here.

The only ones still here are Sunbelt, Dynasty, and Bullfrog.  I'm sure all of the others will pass through again sometime and their customers might be able to get their spas repaired.....eventually. :D

BTW Spatini, congratulations on your new spa.  It sounds like you got a great deal! :)

Price wise they are probably close?? The filtration is different as far as filters go, they do use the exact same high flow circ pump as far as I know, same with the main pumps.  I like the jets better in the J-470 specially the RX jets, and the large power pro MX jets, the optima has a blower no big deal their, most people quit using them after a period of time they become noisy, the diverter in the optima has had problems with being overly loud.  The Optima is larger as far as size goes, I think you could fit a couple more people in it?  The Optima doesnt have an ABS pan but then you are in Nevada, so not a real issue with the elements.

I will add in the looks and lights dept the J-470 kicks a-- over the Optima but looks are not everything.

All in all the Optima would be my 2nd choice in a spa for me.  Hot springs 3rd I have sat in a few just not that impressed with the feel, but the quality of all, are great.

Either would be a good choice, what did the wet test do for you???

Well I only wet tested the Sundance Maxxus, Jacuzzi 465 (I can't believe Jacuzzi doesn't redesign this tub), and the Jacuzzi 345. I can't get a wet test on the J-470, Optima, or HS Grandee without leaving the state. I might wet test a Bullfrog 682 in Salt Lake City, UT next week. I'm ready to buy and have the backyard ready to go. Electrician is even on standby with a 60 amp breaker and everything else.

hey chad....I have a question

i am considering having some floor work done
and i need your help in what a particular part
of tile/marble flooring is called.

when you get a marble/tile floor there are sometimes
little smaller accents placed in between the larger tiles

what are the smaller pieces called?

the term "medallion" seems to be mostly
the larger mosaic type accent

i have found a few of what I am talking about
searching under the term "inserts"

but what are the smaller emblems called that
are made out of metal?....i want to find a source
for a wide variety of "accent emblems" is what i call them

they would be something like the darker tiles in the pic
below but would be made of a metal material

mine would be used with larger tiles and not be
quite as "busy" looking as this pic

Zep, they're called insets or accents. Are you looking for something like this?

Swell Tub, if your going to Salt Lake City you should go ahead and visit the Arctic store there in Salt lake.  Very, Very reputable Arctic spa dealer.  One of the best.   http://www.4arctic.com
