Hope the Commercials are Good...
« on: January 21, 2008, 11:12:56 am »
Because I have no interest in the Super Bowl this year.  As an Eagles fan, I hate the frickin' Giants.  No way do I want them to win a Super Bowl.  I'm also sick and tired of the Patriots and the city of Boston winning Championships.  But I guess a Patriots win is the lesser of two evils.  Plus it gives us a glimpse of history in the making with a perfect 19-0 season.

Gawd, I hope the commercials are good, and that Tom Petty puts on a decent show.

I find it tough as well. On the one hand I can never root for the Giants. On the other hand I hate dynasties in sports and someone besides the Patriots winning would be nice.

The tiebreaker for me is that if (/when) the Patriots win this SB we won't have to hear about the old fart Dolphins opening their champagne as they do every year. It'll be nice that not only has someone else gone undefeated but their record will be better than those '74 Dolphins. It's too bad that the few old Dolphins responsible make me feel that way (maybe the majority have class) but I hope we never have to hear from Mercury Morris and a few of the others that come off as classless as they openly root for the last undefeated team to lose each year.

Here’s hoping this Super Bowl is not Dolphin Safe!! Go Pats!!!

I just hope that Mike Vrabel gets the MVP that he deserved previously. Though he doesn't need the car, he is drving a 2008 CTS.

I'll be in St Lucia this year for the Superbowl with my wife and our friends. We are all bringing our #12 Jerseys and have the Sports bar already picked out!  8-)

Anyone ever work for a company that bought a Superbowl ad?  I worked for a company that paid $1million for a forgettable ad. It was in the early 90's I think.

I can't say that I have worked for a company that purchased SB time...but on the subject of comercials  I think the WORST year for ads was around 1999 or 2000, right before the internet crash in 2001 ...all these dot coms were flush with money and they bought up a ton of ads that absolutey blew monkey chunks.   :P

Being a Seahawks fan since I was 12 I don't really like either team,  and I really despise the Steelers!  :'(

The only reason I would like to see the Pats win is only because of the phenomenal season they have had, you cant argue that regardless of what team it is that has played like they have, this year.
