What surface to put hot tub on
« on: March 07, 2008, 02:59:01 pm »
Thanks for all your help!  We finally made the move and ordered our Tiger River Bengal yesterday!

We won't have it for a while which brings me to my next question.

Is it better to put the spa on patio blocks, or a pressure treated lumber platform about 6" off of the ground.

We have an existing deck but it is small and we don't want to put it up there.

Any thoughts!

Here's what I did: (concrete slab - about $500)

(notice slab barely sticking out of front bottom corner of tub)

Ya just spent thousands of dollars on a tub, dont scrimp on the foundation.

All of the above are good options - with their own advantages and disadvantages.

Of the 2 you asked about, I would recommend the paver stones.

They're likely to last longer, and probably look better (IMO).

If you do go with paver stones, make sure to get enough for a walkway to the spa (and I like a small one to open the cover with).  Besides looking good, this will help keep mud, sand, etc. out of your new spa.
