Giving this webpage access to my Clipboard??
« on: March 02, 2008, 11:52:29 am »
Ok, I just gotta ask this. When I post a response to a thread, I get a message asking if I want to give this webpage access to my clipboard.  I always hesitate at that point.  I need an answer just to make sure I that I "do the right thing".   :-/

(I tried a forum search to see if anyone else has asked, but nothing came up)

There is a way to stop Internet Explorer from askiing this, but I don't know how.  It has been discussed here, I believe, in the past.  I always allow access but it works both ways.

I upgraded to IE 7 and it asks me the same ... I just thought it was a IE 7 problem.

I upgraded too and started getting the same query.  I tell it 'yes', 'OK', 'go ahead', 'be my guest' or whatever the questions asks. :-/

I get the same question every time and I just hit the red X and close the box without answering and that seems to work  :D

Am I correct that this box is something relatively new (like in the last year)?

I would just like to get rid of it.  Although either answer seems to be correct, I generally try to make as few daily decisions as possible.   ;) :)

Change your browser to FireFox and you don't have this problem.  And you have a more secure browser.

I looked into it on IE 7 ... Go to Tools, internet options, security, click on button for internet (or whatever you have this website set to) and go to scripting. Under scripting there is a spot about programing into clipboard - click enable, say OK to everything, apply and exit IE. Restart IE and it should work.

You people HAD TO make me think about this! ;D

k, I selected disable rather than enable, cause I'm one that always said no... and it seems to be working.

Ok, well I followed Vinny's instructions and checked "enable".  No more box.   :) :) :)

When I get home I'll have to give it a try, too.
