Frog or Nat 2?
« on: February 15, 2008, 10:33:49 am »
I am thinking of draining my tub at 2 1/2 months old to start fresh. I would like to replace my frog, so it will coincide with my next water change, hopefully, not for 4 months. I use dichlor/mps. I have 24 hour ozone. Which is better? Nat 2 or Frog? What is the difference?

The Frog uses colloidal silver, where Nat2 uses ionic.  The big difference as far as my customers are concerned is you can't use bromine with Nat2 but you can with the Frog.

My opinion:  go with Nat2.  I think it does a better job.  I've used both in my store and at home and the Nat2 seems to keep things clearer and cleaner longer.  The only bad thing I've heard about the Frog is that some of the small pellets from inside the stick can and do fall out.  I don't think I want pieces of stuff going through my circulation pump.

The frog also has a floating mineral cartridge, but they recommend using it in conjunction with their bromine floater as well.

I have used both extensively with chlorine and found no difference from one to the other.  I would use whichever one costs less.
