I am only holding the Caldera Niagra. My deposit is refundable, but I keep going back to that one. I'm going to take my husband to test a couple of Vita spas before my final decision on Monday.

Hot Spring 2008s are not released yet. I hear some things are in the works for 2008. A rumor I have heard is a rock siding. Don't know if it is true or not, just a rumor.

Hi,
First post here. My wife and I have been looking for about 6 months now. After MUCH research we will probably buy a Sundance Cameo.
Does anyone have any info on when Sundance will come out with 08 models. Any info on changes, new models, ect?
Thanks.............. Brothersean

Our Sundance dealer said "soon" and the prices go up about $500. Nothing really different. But, he was trying to sell me a 2007.

Sean,
The Cameo is an 800 series spa. The 700 series was upgraded in 07 and will not change much at all. A casual friend, who sells Sundance, said that the 800 series is due for a major upgrade in 08, according to his factory rep. If you're looking at the 800 series, I'd wait.

I did some checking on 2008 Caldera. They have not yet released details for their 2008 lineup.
It is right about now that Watkins starts distributing info on the next year. They will usually start limited production of 2008 in December only if they are depleted of 2007 models. The only models close to depletion at this time are their Oasis series spas.
The Oasis are their entry level spas.

I know Caldera did some major changes mid-year on the 2007s. Maybe they are more of a half year company??? (Changes come mid-year)

The Watkins' philosophy used to be to introduce everything at the turn of the year. They went to more of a philosophy of releasing improvements as soon as they are ready. Basically, if it'll help then, it'll help now.
They did move the waterfalls off the filter lids into the bar top and changed the waterfall from a "sheer descent" to a rainfall type waterfall. Both very positive moves. The waterfall on the lid was always quirky.

Duh, I'm sitting in Orlando the night before the show, so I'll try to mosey around some of the spa companies to see what's new for 2008. Not sure if I'll have time, but if things are as slow as many are predicting, I should have time. I'll post what I see. I already ran into one of the Sundance marketing guys and he seemed pretty excited about things.

Sounds like Watkins may not release much until their Dealer Conference in January. However, they may be forced to go into production of some units this year.
I spoke with one of the marketing guys at Sundance today. Asked him if there were any big changes for 2008. His answer verbatim, "Not Really."
I didn't get to go into any booths today. Will try tomorrow. Although, I must say Jacuzzi, Marquis, Sundance and Bullfrog all have some great looking spas on display.
Cal Spas really downsized this year. I didn't make it last year, but they usually have the largest, most extravagant booth at the show. They had their trailer they sell with spas on it, one on a spinner dealy bopper and some other stuff. Very surprised by their booth.
Dynasty has a big presence here as well as Infinity.
Biggest surprise so far----Hydro Spa is displaying.
Asked around for comments on anything that has caught some eyes and didn't get much in return.
