New Job (yes I'm in hot water!!)
« on: October 11, 2007, 12:05:40 pm »
I finally have jumped into the pool and spa business!!

I will be the new sales manager at our local Hot Spring dealership here in Canada, starting Monday.

thanks to Term for all his great advice.

I was already getting indoctrinated to the HS way last week in Minnesota and would like to thank all those nice midwestern Americans for showing me a good time.  I met lots of great dealers from St. Cloud, Fargo ND, Lacrosse WI, and Rockford Illinois just to name a few.

I'm coming from a 10 year career in advertising sales, so I'm looking forward to the change.

Looking forward to meeting a whole bunch of you HS dealers in January at the convention.

Welcome to the Association of Spa Salesmen my young spadawan learner!

Now...forget everything they taught you last week, start practicing your Photoshopping and folksy banter techniques, and shave your head.  Oh, and eat a lot of pig innerds and drink Shiner Bock in order to set an example for your underlings.  Mediocrity will soon slough your way!

All of the above Term
Just layin' low and chucklin' in my stomach wif' da fidgets...

Everytime I hear of someone coming into the spa business from another market I  :'( inside for them.

My condolences to you and your family
The lingering smell of poor quality will far outlast the sweet smell of money saved on a cheap price.

Casey and Melissa from Hot Spring Spas of Lacrosse are awesome.  If you're looking to network with Hot Spring dealers in Canada, look up a guy named Michael Bozek in Ontario.  He sells both Caldera and Hot Spring- he's been through Top Gun and Caldera's All Star training.

Congratulations!

Look up Rob Neal at Rocky Mountain.  He is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to Watkins.  His dad was the original sales manager.  Helped launch what is now the most successful hot tub company in the world.

Oh yeah, Rob will also make you laugh until it hurts.

Good Luck in the biz.  Have fun as hot tubs are fun.

Alright....first day is done....at

Rocky Mountain Pools & Spas in Calgary.

Rob is leaving for a "sanitorium" as he put it...lol.  He was a great help in the transition, his product knowledge is top notch.  I can only hope he gets back with Watkins on a national / regional level to help guys like me!!

Yes, I did meet Casey & Melissa from Lacrosse at our Level 2 training in Minneapolis a couple of weeks ago.  They're great, and you can see why their store does well.

Thanks for all your nice wishes.
