I made an offer on a hot tub
« on: September 21, 2007, 04:02:49 pm »
I made an offer on a hot tub today to my Hotsprings dealer.  He is selling the Envoy for $8900.  I offered $8000 cash offer.

He's getting back to me.

If he takes it, I'll be the proud owner of an Envoy.  If he doesn't, onward to Caldera, Jacuzzi, and Bullfrog.

My Envoy is great!  You're going for a nice tub.
Hope your offer works out.

Well, it didn't work out.  He countered me at $8495.   Maybe he'll change his mind.  But for now, it's on to Caldera and Bullfrog dealer.

It's always disappointing when you have to settle for something less... :'(

$8495 is what we sold them for back in '04.

Good luck in your continued search! :)

Seems like an awesome price to me!

Is that offer you made based on any real, tangable cross shopping in comparison or just a pretty round number you picked outa the air?

One day I'm gonna break code and really show these morons the TRUE cost to the dealer and the REAL profit that is made per unit. No Solo... don't ask... :-X

Wow I think you just walked away from quite a deal! Didn't you say your Mother would kick in a few bucks? That wouldn't have been been much to ask, $500.00, since she was willing. And you could have put all this behind you and started feeling better in your new tub.
Support your dealer so they can support you!

My original budget was $7000.  Mom offered to help me out,  but I can't bring myself to ask her for more than $1000.  I'm sure I'll find a good spa for $8000.

Steve, it's pretty easy.  You can't spend what you don't have.  I'm actually already $1000 over budget and gettingthagt  $1000 from my mom.  Do you know how embarrassing that is?

So that number was the absolut max I could offer him.

Ya know, I would like to buy a full-auto M-16 so that I can lay waste to the enemy invaders from Canada and Mexico when the time comes, but it would cost me upwards of $13K to purchase one.  So, instead, I have to make due with a semi-auto AR-15 for around $1.2K and hope that they don't all come in waves onto my property.

A man's got to realize his limitations when it comes to fundage.  You can get plenty of good spas for $7000 and put the other $1000 towards an AR-15 so that you won't become a statistic during the coming storm.

I'm sure I'll get a good spa.  The Envoy was the first tub that I sat in that I really wanted to buy.  There will be others.
