I posted the same question back in late June, not specific to NJ, but along the same lines. Hope this helps.

I have been selling spas in the South Jersey area for 14 years. There really isnt a season or cyclical time frame where spas are more or less expensive. Some spa makers are currently offering same as cash financing or cash discounts now through labor day. And usually in late winter/early spring there is a model year change over where you might find a floor model or demo spa. Spas, like most big ticket items, usually cost more year to year.

I have to agree with "MoreCowBell", we have a sale going on here, in middle TN, up to labor day weekend. That sale is for the 2007 models. The sale is for most of the dealers and smaller "Watson's" sized stores. Even Costco (heaven forbid I mention that name) has a "Cash and Carry" sale on all 2007 models on their floor. (It means just that; no credit cards) You buy, you load, and you take it home. They are billing it as need to make way for the new models coming soon.

The dealer I bought my spa from is not advertising, per-say, but, has been offering good prices on his floor models. So, I would venture to guess, you won't know unless you ask for a better deal.  ;)

What kind of cash discount is typical?  We are in the market, and I would be happy to pay cash to bring down the price.   What might you expect a dealer to go for?

I bought in northern NJ in April.

From my perspective, while cost is important, it is also important to find the right tub and the right dealer.

I wound up getting a low price from one dealer and then going to my dealer of choice and getting a match.

I received a 8% discount when I payed cash for my tub. I would think anywhere between 5-10% is acceptable IMO.
