lounge floating

At the risk of sounding dumb,  I have a question about my lounge.

When I'm in it with the jets going,  I float a little.  My butt and feet float.  Is that the way it's supposed to be?  I can hold on to a handrail and keep myself in place.  With the jets off,  I am more weighted down.  

It just feel a little odd.

the more flat your lounger is the more apt you are to float up.  perhaps a counter weight in you lap, like a leg weight.  good luck

Lounge floating is pretty typical for smaller people. Like loosenupspas said the more contoured the lounge the less likely you are to float. My favorite lounges were the ones that I was able to brace my feet up against the foot jets. Like the one in the J-480.

I've got a Sudance Cameo.  I'm not small, 5' 11"  200, I'll expirement.  I can brace my feet and tat keeps me in place more.

Same tub.  I'm 5'11 185.  I don't float, but my wife does.  She likes the therapy seat better anyway...

Might also be the specific person.  Fat floats easier than muscle.  That could account for some folk......

Did you wet test the lounger before you purchased the spa? Most people think the lounger is great idea until they float out of it. Some folks float and other don't. I believe it's a density issue. I don't float out of our lounger but my wife does. She rarely uses the lounger while it's my favorite seat.

Good luck with your new spa. The Cameo is a great model.

Doc has a thing he made called a "Lap Belt" that you can fill with marbles and keep by the spa. When your in the lounge you set it in your lap and it keeps you in place.

Turn down the air  or reduce some of the flow to the jets.

Obtain a nylon stocking. Add marbles. Drape it over your waist while in the lounger. Leave it in the spa when you exit. Problem solved.

The lower your % of body fat the less you will float.

For what it's worth. I had issues with floating. Two nice loungers that I did not float in were the Coleman and the Resort by Artesian. I just decided on another spa with open seating that I liked better.

This was one of the reasons we got the Coleman...I don't float out of the lounger, even with the jets and the air pump on full blast, and despite my natural buoyancy    Not to mention it was on the very short list of tubs that had a lounger I actually fit in.

The wife will float, but she can use the overhang in the footwell of the lounger to lock herself in, or turn the jets down.
