Need some help
« on: July 21, 2007, 10:17:23 am »
I noticed last night and again this morning that there are no bubbles coming out of my ozone/circ pump port. I can feel the heated water coming out but there are not any bubbles. Could there be some kind of build up in the injector? Are you suppose to clean it every so often? I'm gonna open it up and take a look but really don't know what to look for.  :-/

Thanks,

Chad

Injectors get clogged.  Check valves fail.  Those are the prime suspects. :(

Thanks Dan.

I opened her up and both the circ and ozone unit are working. I can here them both hum. Still no bubbles though. The water in the tube going to and from the port are brown, is this typical? How do I go about cleaning the injector and or lines if that's what's needed? I can post some pics if you think it would help.

Chad(the bubbleless one)

Btw, where's the check valve located and what does it look like?

Here are some pics of my injector and the tube going to and from it. I think I see the problem. I beleive there's a build up in the tube. Can I safely unhook it and clean it out?

Spatech,
Do you think it would be ok to disconnect that line and clean it out?

Thanks,

Chad

Me thinks Jacuzzi Jim would be helpful.

On Hot Spring we have a process with disconnecting and flushing with white vinegar.

I can almost guarantee it is the check valve.  Pull it off and try to blow through in the correct direction.  You should be able to blow through with relative ease.  If you can't you must replace it.  Simple process.  They cost anywhere from $5 - $15 depending where you buy them.

You can disconnect the tubing and clean and/or replace.  Yours doesn't look bad.  I think its easier to replace than clean.

Is your Hartford loop above your water line.  It looks like it may not be but can't tell for sure.  It should be.  Sundance spas have a little slot molded into the underside of the shell specifically for this.  I would imagine Jacuzzi shells would too.  It could be that the zip tie is threaded through it.  I ran my tubing through it.

BTW, the check valve is located just after the Mazzei injector where the 3/8" tubing converts to the 1/4" tubing.

Chad

I just modified above describing where the check valve is.  You can see it in your second to bottom picture.  Blow from the small end to the large end.  Be careful not to suck in....NASTY (experience?).
