newbie question on D1 Lotus Bay
« on: July 07, 2007, 03:41:44 pm »
Hi everyone,

We have been looking for a hot tub and have narrowed our selection to a D1 specifically a Lotus Bay.  Dealer here in Dublin, CA quoted me a $12,500.00 out the door (includes tax, delivery and setup, stereo system, chemicals, cover and steps).  Do you folks think this is a good deal or am I'm paying too much for this unit.  Any comments, would be highly appreciated.  Thanks.

A quick search netted the following thread, where drewstar says a new one goes for around $10k...

I think 12 grand even 10 is high for a spa like that and of that size,But hey, if you like it and it works for you, see if you can bring him down on the price.

Did you look at Jacuzzi,Sundance and or Hot springs??   All offer a lot of spa for the money.

I did check out the models you mentioned and even did a wet test on the Hot Spring Grandee but it didn't feel right.  I agree that the price is somewhat high but it did include the stereo system which he said was worth $1,500 (more of a $300 system really).

I also saw that thread about it being worth 10K new so I'll try to get him down a little bit more.  Thanks for the input!

As long as you tried and compared something else your doing all the right stuff, with a lot of people its not always the money but what works for them which is what I feel is more important.  If your not comfortable in it and its not what works for you, its a waste of money.

Good luck with your purchase.  :)

I wet tested the Amore Bay and the nautilus yesterday and really liked the Amore Bay.  Now I'm debating between the two but the $2000 difference is kind of difficult to swallow.

Just got a call from the dealer in Dublin and he has an Amore Bay with the UltraLife Alpine shell and Adobe Tan trim for 12K OTD.  No stereo though.  Still debating if I should pull the trigger since I need to get a $500 crane to have it delivered to my house.
