Hot Spring Ozonator Questions
« on: June 28, 2007, 03:49:19 pm »
Occasionally I hear people discuss the type and strength of various Ozonators but I have been having trouble finding out what kind, and the strength of, the ozonator that came with my 2006 Envoy.  UV? CD? 50 mg? 250 mg?
This is the blurb from the HS website:

Your Hot Spring spa comes standard with the FreshWaterŽ III high output ozone system*, an essential part of the EverFresh water care system. It uses Corona Discharge cell technology to continuously generate extremely high levels of ozone. Unlike UV bulb or CD chip systems, it functions efficiently for years with virtually no maintenance required and is far more powerful.

So, it appears that its neither fish nor fowl.  Not a UV bulb or a CD chip system.  Is it 50 mg or 250 mg? I am confused.  Any help?

Thanks

I was told Hot Springs uses a 200mg CD ozonator.  But I'm sure one of the Hot Springs dealers can verify that.

They use the DEL MDC-50 CD unit. DEL states the power supply and CD electrode should be replaced every two years.

The only maintenance is if the tubing gets a gooey build it, that will need to be cleaned out. It can be done with a Q-tip and some vinegar.

So, Gary, maybe based on the model number, is it a 50 mg unit?

Thanks, Rich

I am not sure but I doubt it is a 50mg unit, it is a very high output unit. The owner's manual do not state. I sent an e-mail to DEL for clarification.

If I had to guess I would say it is 200-250mg.
